EyeCare Plus ("the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.
Summary
EyeCare Plus does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any
personal data. Everything the extension stores stays on your own device.
What the extension stores
The extension saves the following locally in your browser
(via Chrome's storage API), only so your settings and statistics persist:
- Your settings: reminder interval, break duration, idle threshold, theme,
sound choice, notification preferences, and work-hours schedule.
- Your daily usage statistics: minutes active and number of breaks taken
(kept locally, then automatically discarded after a year).
- An optional custom alert sound you upload (stored as data on your device).
This information never leaves your computer. It is not sent to us or to any
third party. There are no analytics, no tracking, and no external servers.
Permissions and why they are needed
- alarms — to schedule break reminders at your chosen interval.
- notifications — to show the break reminder notification.
- idle — to detect when you step away, so reminders pause instead
of firing while you are absent.
- storage — to save your settings and statistics on your device.
- offscreen — to play the alert sound.
- scripting / optional host access — requested only if you enable the
on-screen break overlay, solely to display it on the page you are viewing.
The extension does not read, collect, or transmit page content.
Data sharing
None. The extension has no backend and makes no network requests.
